Join the Publishing Group
If you’ve read about the Publishing Group and would like to participate, here’s how to join! All BPS members are welcome, regardless of your level of printing experience. Remember that as a PG member, you're expected to send at least two printed items per year for the bi-monthly bundles.
How to Join the Publishing Group
Publishing Group (PG) membership is only available to Society Members. If you are not yet a member of the BPS, please join the Society first. Then follow these steps:
- Pay for your PG membership (see below).
- Contact the PG Chairman (pgchair@bpsnet.org.uk) to request the PG Prospectus.
- Fill out the form in the PG Prospectus and either email or post it to the PG Chairman (whose postal address is in the PG Prospectus).
- Send your first bundle contribution — currently 54 copies — to the PG Mailer (whose postal address is in the PG Prospectus).
Once your membership has been processed we will be in touch to welcome you to the Publishing Group! And you can look forward to the first bundle arriving on your doormat — you’ll find bundle dates on our PG members page.
Choose Your Membership
Payment by annual Direct Debit is preferred; you won’t need to remember to renew your membership, and it saves us a lot of admin (thank you). All payments are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, and you can cancel your Direct Debit instruction at any time. You’ll receive a reminder before your membership renews.
If you would prefer to pay by debit or credit card, you can use PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account — you’ll be given the option to use your PayPal balance (if you have an account) or a debit or credit card.
Membership renews yearly on the 1st of April.

FAQ
Does PG membership cost extra if I’m not based in the UK?
No, Publishing Group membership is the same wherever you live.
Can I pay by Direct Debit?
Yes. If you set up a Direct Debit, your PG membership can renew automatically each year. That way, you’ll never forget to renew your membership. Direct Debit saves the Society a lot of admin — we would greatly appreciate it if you could choose this option.
We use GoCardless, a secure payment system that allows organisations to take Direct Debit payments. Please be assured that the Direct Debit instruction is secure and is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. Your bank details are encrypted and are not accessible to the society or GoCardless. You can cancel the Direct Debit instruction at any time. When payment is made, your bank statement will show that payment has been made to GoCardless, acting on behalf of the British Printing Society.
Can I pay with PayPal?
Yes. You don’t need a PayPal account — you’ll be given the option to use your PayPal balance (if you have an account) or a debit or credit card. When paying by card, your details will not be passed on to the Society.
Can I pay by BACS (online banking)?
Yes. Our details are:

But please do consider taking out a Direct Debit to help ease the Society's membership administrative burden.
Can I pay for my BPS and Publishing Group memberships in the same transaction?
The Publishing Group now has their own GoCardless and PayPal accounts and it is no longer possible to mix Society and Publishing Group purchases in the same transaction.
