Join the British Printing Society
If you’ve got this far, you already know all the reasons why joining the BPS is good for you and for your printing. Here’s how to make things official!
How to Join the BPS
So, you’ve decided to join us — we look forward to getting to know you. Follow these three steps:
- Download the BPS Membership Application Form (PDF, 122 KB).
- Fill out the form and email it to the Membership Secretary (membership@bpsnet.org.uk).
- Pay for your BPS membership (see options & payment links below).
Once your membership has been processed we will be in touch to welcome you to the Society! In the meantime, why not take a look at the Society Handbook (aka the rules)?
Choose Your Membership
Payment by annual Direct Debit is preferred; you won’t need to remember to renew your membership, and it saves us a lot of admin (thank you). All payments are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, and you can cancel your Direct Debit instruction at any time. You’ll receive a reminder before your membership renews.
If you would prefer to pay by debit or credit card, you can use PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account — you’ll be given the option to use your PayPal balance (if you have an account) or a debit or credit card.
New UK Membership
Don’t forget to fill out the BPS Membership Application Form (PDF, 123 KB), and email it to the Membership Secretary (membership@bpsnet.org.uk).
New Overseas BPS Membership
There is a choice of subscriptions for overseas (non UK) members; either £50.00 for membership with a printed copy of Small Printer posted to your home, or £33.00 for an emailed PDF of Small Printer.
Don’t forget to fill out the BPS Membership Application Form (PDF, 123 KB), and email it to the Membership Secretary (membership@bpsnet.org.uk).

FAQ
Can I pay by Direct Debit?
Yes. If you set up a Direct Debit, your BPS membership can renew automatically each year. That way, you’ll never forget to renew your membership. Direct Debit saves the Society a lot of admin — we would greatly appreciate it if you could choose this option.
We use GoCardless, a secure payment system that allows organisations to take Direct Debit payments. Please be assured that the Direct Debit instruction is secure and is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. Your bank details are encrypted and are not accessible to the society or GoCardless. You can cancel the Direct Debit instruction at any time. When payment is made, your bank statement will show that payment has been made to GoCardless, acting on behalf of the British Printing Society.
Can I pay with PayPal?
Yes. You don’t need a PayPal account — you’ll be given the option to use your PayPal balance (if you have an account) or a debit or credit card. When paying by card, your details will not be passed on to the Society.
Can I pay by BACS (online banking)?
Yes. Our details are:
Account name: British Printing Society
Account number: 74893463
Sort code: 30-98-97
But please do consider taking out a Direct Debit to help ease the Society's membership administrative burden.
Can I pay for my BPS and Publishing Group memberships in the same transaction?
You used to be able to, but the Publishing Group now has their own GoCardless and PayPal accounts and it is no longer possible to mix Society and Publishing Group purchases in the same transaction.
