Society Awards
Each year a number of prizes are awarded to members who have made a notable contribution to the Society. These are usually awarded at our Spring Open Day and AGM (see Events for dates).
So What Can You Win?
The President’s Award
A pewter Tankard is given in recognition of contributions to the Society - eg. long service in an admin post. This is an excellent reason to offer some time to the EC.
The Printer of the Year Cup
This is awarded to a printer for an item or items that has been seen by members, i.e circulated in either Small Printer or PG bundles.
The Brace Award, named after the Society’s founder, is a long service award. It is awarded to a member who has served the Society over a number of years.
The Coles Award
A wooden scroll and one year’s membership of the Society is awarded to the best print submitted by a printer under 18 years of age.
The Sussex Cup
This is given for the convention item judged to be the best Convention Keepsake.
The Beatrice Warde Trophy
A silver cup is presented to the member who has contributed the most meritorious writing published in Small Printer during the previous year. Awarded by the editors of the magazine.
The Publishing Group Cup
Actually the grandest of the Society cups. It is awarded to the PG member who has printed the best book in the previous year. The winner is decided by PG members' votes. A great reason to join the PG!
The Publishing Group Award
This is awarded for the best single leaf item in the PG bundle for the previous year. As above the winner is voted for by the PG membership.
The Rosen Award
This is given for the best collective submission by a branch.
