If you are a new member you might be wondering “what next?”. Our Quick Start guide will show you how to get — and stay! — involved with the Society, and get the most out of your British Printing Society membership.
Quick Start Guide
1. Get to know your new community — if you use social media, follow us there:

You’ll find quite a lot of our active members posting with the hashtags #britishprintingsociety #britishprintingsocietypublishinggroup #bpspublishinggroup
Our Members page will give you a headstart on some BPS member Instagram accounts to follow.
2. Look out for Small Printer magazine — landing on your doormat every two months. If you can’t wait for your first copy, email the Enquiries Officer who’ll be delighted to send you a PDF of a recent issue.
We’d love it if you’d introduce yourself in the magazine: send in a photo of you / your press / your workshop / your work and a little introduction, and say hi to our members.
3. Join a local branch — there are eleven BPS branches across the UK, plus an online branch for those people who don’t have a local branch. We even have an overseas branch.
Branches often meet monthly, and by getting to know your local BPS gang you’ll get all sorts of help, support, inspiration and guidance plus often the opportunity to acquire presses and equipment.
4. Join the Publishing Group — to be sure of getting an exciting inky bundle of ephemera through the post every two months……

5. Open Days — BPS Open Days happen once or twice a year around the country, so get those dates in your diary now. Our events page also shows branch meet-ups and other events of interest: exhibitions, and Wayzgooses, which are printers’ get-togethers (usually with a sale attached!)
