The Society Logo

A competition to design a Society logo was announced in the March 1965 issue of the newly-formed British Printing Society's magazine, Small Printer. Results were published in the June issue after entries had been shown, and voted for, at the 1965 convention. Society member, Bob Waring won the competition, but not with the design that was to become the society logo. An EC proposed that a logo design submitted by Bob Waring be accepted. He was to be paid 5 guineas, and copyright for the logo was to be assigned by him to the President, Secretary and Treasurer on behalf of the society. The original artwork was reproduced on the cover of October's Small Printer magazine.
