Essex and East London Branch
We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month at the United Reform Church, High Street, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, Essex commencing at 7.30. On the occasions when we have a speaker the talk will start at 8.00pm. This leaves time for the members to browse the bring and buy stall and also by not starting earlier avoids the speaker being interrupted by late comers. We must be the only branch in the Society who do not levy a 10% charge on the sale of goods. We are very lucky in having use of our meeting place at a very modest charge and cover our costs by each member paying £1.50 per meeting, this includes refreshments.
Attendances can vary from eight on a poor night to 16/18 on a good night. It is very difficult to get outside speakers these days but we do quite well from within the branch and try and address any subjects raised by members that they need help with. A resumé of our monthly meeting can be seen in Small Printer thanks to the efforts of our "Robbie" Roberts. Any members visiting the Essex area are invited to make contact even if we do not have a meeting scheduled.
